I had a great time this past weekend at the Montgomery Fall Fair. We had our off-grid solar trailer on site and were providing power for a cotton candy machine, the music and PA system. The Bownesians, a local Bowness group, heard in advance that they would be powered by our solar trailer so wrote a song about it! I caught some of it on video:
Sorry for the terrible video and sound quality. Here are the lyrics as best I could decipher:
..Any scientist would understand,
we could play on a cloudy day – But no way!
You never play in the dead of night – it’s not right!
You gotta play on a beach in the sun,
where the kids are all surfin’ havin’ fun.
We got a solar powered band
Searching out the sun all across the land
We got solar powered hands
Any little science nerd would understand
Photovoltaic cell – is real swell!
Upon the voltage you can depend – its one-ten!
But the biggest thing that makes me flip my lid,
is you can set us up anywhere off the grid.
I got a solar powered band,
I got a solar powered band,
I got a solar powered band!
We could play on a cloudy day – but no way!
We don’t play in the dead of night – its not right!
We play on the beach in the sun,
where the kids are all surfin’ having fun.
I got a solar powered band
Searching for the sun all across the land
We got solar powered hands
Any scientist would understand,
we got a solar powered band!
The environmentalist master plan.
Solar powered band.
But if you love the sun,
c’mon take a stand.
We got a solar powered band,
We got a solar powered band,
We got a solar powered band!
Big thanks to Doug Waite and the Bownesians for the awesome tunes and to the Montgomery Fall Fair planning team for involving us in this years festivities, we can’t wait until next year!
