Utility-Scale Case Studies

Project:

4.486 MW Peavine Community Solar Farm Project

Project Details:

Peavine Métis Settlement, located in northern Alberta, is an Indigenous community with a long-term vision to create sustainable economic opportunities while protecting the environment for future generations. The Peavine Community Solar Project is one of the few fully Indigenous-owned utility-scale solar farms in Canada and is funded in part through Natural Resources Canada (NRCan).

SkyFire Energy’s relationship with the community began when we completed two microgeneration solar projects in 2017 and 2020. Those successful collaborations built trust and demonstrated our ability to deliver high-quality solutions that align with community values. When the Peavine Métis Settlement decided to pursue a utility-scale installation, they selected SkyFire Energy for our proven track record, commitment to partnership, and ability to custom design a system that fit within their budget and funding requirements.

From the start, this project has been built on collaboration. The Peavine Métis Settlement welcomed our team as part of their own, and two members of the SkyFire Energy team were made honorary members of the community.
