Project:

Rocky Six S Ranch

Project Details:

“My dad wanted horses to be affordable so everyone could enjoy riding. With solar, our monthly energy bill went from nearly $3,000 to $26, and that savings helps us keep our prices low.” —Nadia Mah, Co-Owner

Company Overview
Established in 1996, Rocky Six S Ranch evolved from a cattle ranch into a horse boarding and breeding facility. Home to 80 horses, including rare Caspians, the family installed solar to cut energy costs and support their goal of keeping horseback riding accessible and maintaining high-quality stables.

Challenges
Operating a large boarding facility requires significant energy, especially
in winter, with monthly energy costs of $2,000 to $3,000. The ranch needed a solar partner who could work safely around horses, trainers,
and staff while maintaining their calm, daily routines.

Solution
SkyFire Energy installed an 84kW DC roof-mounted solar array with 152 panels. The design preserved agricultural land and blended seamlessly with the arena. A Wi-Fi extender ensured reliable system monitoring. Despite windy conditions and a busy environment, the client praised the team’s strong safety focus for animals, trainers, and riders.

Results
Completed on schedule and under budget, the system powers the riding arena and delivers immediate financial relief, with the first energy bill dropping to just $26. The savings allow the family to reinvest in the ranch and continue building a lasting legacy of an affordable, vibrant equestrian community.
